You could try

Do you mean 1960-1970 rather than 1860-1870?
What religion were they? They could have gone to a state school, RC school, C of E school ...
Here are some schools in the area spotted on a 1960s map:-
Pleasant Street County Primary School
St Nicholas RC Primary School
Notre Dame Demonstration RC Primary School
Notre Dame Secondary Grammar School (Girls)
Liverpool Institute Grammar School

Thank You, typing error looking for schools where child born 1853/5 would have attended family once lived ( 1861 ) in Peach Street which was by Brownlow Hill and Mount Pleasant The family I believe stayed in this area. The child was baptised a Catholic ? Liverpool St Peter.

Still typos with the dates above please confirm that it is 1950s/60s you want. I would try St Nicholas RC if it is 1950s/60s.

There was also an RC St Peter in Seel Street it's no longer a church but the building survives. The C of E St Peter church was long gone by the 1950s.

Thanks, Blue. Wasn't aware of that one. Liverpool St Peter has always meant St Peter on Church Street to me.
