Is there any searchable database for the womans army core in the USA. I'm looking for a female Sharkey who was a typist in WW2 and earlier. I know she came to visit my Great-Grandfather in 1946 in London England (to visit and say hello) but no other knowledge than that.
If no database then anyone I could email to get contact about the WAAC and their personnel around that time.

I was just the other day looking for such information. I didn't find anything. My mother served in the US Army as a typist in the Chemical Warfare Service [gas mask supply and distribution]. I have photos of her in her army uniform with a round badge that says US in the center and around that it says Great Britain and something illegible [Civilian Volunteer?].

There is reference to the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps.

Interesting, has anyone had any luck finding WAAC records on that database, I'm a bit lost on it.

There is a "contact us" link; have you tried that?

Thanks, I've just done that. Will update this thread if anyone emerges. Thanks for the help.
