The post you mention hallmark is from 2016.
So worth a check today, and they say that as from yesterday (March 6th- already the 7th where I am!), you can now search 'mailing lists' again.

We have some good news on our progress to bring RootsWeb back online. As of today, the RootsWeb mailing lists are now available to use, meaning you can now send and receive email on RootsWeb email lists just like you used to in the past. In addition to making the site more secure, we’ve upgraded our backend system to provide an easier-to-use interface to manage your email list subscriptions

Not actually found how you get to Ros Davies board yet! Will keep looking.

You can send/receive email but as it says,,,


As of today, any email that is sent will go directly into a new archive. We are in the process of importing the old archives into the new archives and due to the massive amount of content, that process will take time.......

yes ros davies original co down website is frozen since march 2017, Yet she is still building up new material to add to her website if it ever gets restored. its a very sorry situation, yet Ros herself keeps her constructive mode.  not rewarded by any civic or community group or even backed by a one wealthy community spirited person, or university or lottery
the good news is at least rootsweb has made available an archived version up tp march 2017

i urge you all to ask your favourite websites are they saved daily as archival. the nasties are intrusive and winning, eg caora website gone , intruded by overseas hacks, comber intruded by overseas hacks [ not the historical society], genealogy genforum northern counties and more all frozen.

if this website and belfast forum genealogy are not protected, and hit, then thats the end of free genealogy in the north oh of ireland
