Title: London birth about 1819
Post by: enzfan on Thursday 08 March 18 03:08 GMT (UK): I am trying to find the birth/baptism information for James Marshall SOMERVELL born in London about 1819. And any siblings to the same parents please.

Just a thought but if this is the correct James and David is his brother then I think this is David in 1861 living at Maitland Street, Barony, Milton, Lanarkshire,

David Sommerville    37 Upholsterer    Glasgow, Lanarkshire
Christina    Sommerville 29    Glasgow, Lanarkshire,
Jeanie Sommerville    8 Glasgow, Lanarkshire
Henry Sommerville    0 Glasgow, Lanarkshire

There is a possible marriage of a David Somervell to a Christina Clark on Scotlands People 16 Sept 1959 Glasgow. David is listed as 35 an Upholsterer with parents John Somervell a Wright and Jane Reid - Both deceased

However the doesn't help much with a baptism for James

James can be found in Lancashire for 1851, 1861 and 1871 and after that I lose him. I am trying to connect James to an Andrew Marshall Somervell born abt 1806 in London who I know is David's half brother. Theri father is John

It does seem very likely that David is a half brother of James with the same occupation, travelling together etc

The 1803 James must have been an earlier child but could you possibly give me the baptism record for Andrew please and any other siblings born in London if you can see them please

The only other likely sibling baptised at that church is John Somerville (bap 12 June 1814, born 30 March 1814) , John and Jane, abode Rochester, father a soldier.
