Hello
I'm researching a William Edwin James Thomson who I've located on the CWGC as a Leading Airman at the shore base HMS Saker. He is one of seven listed on the Naval History net for the 3rd October 1943 under the entry 'Air Crash' and I wondered if someone with access to the US Newspapers could do a keyword search to see if anything pops up.
Cheers

He's MPK (missing presumed killed). Reading the death announcements in Motherwell papers for Sub Lieut Andrew Flockhart who is recorded as having died the same day from Saker, and same squadron (849), he also was reported missing and presumed killed. One assumes they were on the same flight.
The two deaths from Saker in 1837 squadron that day are not connected. Two single seat Corsairs collided.
