Post by: dathai on Friday 09 March 18 12:39 GMT (UK)
My great great great grandparent's Christopher Howard and Mary Bride lived in Edenfield circa 1850s 1890s before that possibly Baldoyle

Their last child Catherine was born 1865 in Edenfield, Dundrum
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1865/03575/2317552.pdf

Christopher died 1881 age 69 at Edenfield ,Goatstown

does anyone know where Edenfield was ?

would appreciate any pointers

I agree Sinann

I don't know specifically where Edenfield was but in Dundrum there are many addresses ending in -field
Airfield, Annefield, Campfield, Rockfield, Larchfield, etc.

Edenfield was the home of Henry Hutton, an engineer, he died there on April 2 1878 LINK (https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/deaths_returns/deaths_1878/020513/7198527.pdf)

Henry Hutton JP lived at Edenfield in 1845-1847 period LINK (http://opac.oireachtas.ie/Data/Library3/Library3/DCT130007.pdf)

The Journal of Old Baldoyle refers to the Huttons which refers to Henry Hutton living at Edenfield LINK (http://shakespir.com/ebook/journal-of-old-baldoyle-no-2-2017-170704)
It implies that Edenfield was a house and still in existence in 1878

Eden Park house was probably built in Edenfield and the field got dropped.

if you switch between the different Griffith maps the name of the building changes from Edenfield to Eden park

think Hutton was at Drummartin - maybe a little after griffiths

I came across Fairfield before, think it was in Artane. I dont remember the name of the guy that owned the estate but he appeared in Freemans quite a bit complaining about price of grain at the market
