John McIntosh was born John McIntosh Brown on 09 April 1870 in Fortingall, Perthshire, Scotland.
He was the illegitimate son of Janet Brown.
I have him on the Census of 1871, 1881 and 1891 living with his mother (who never married) in Fortingall with other family members. He disappears from Perthshire records after this point.
In 1912 and 1913 he appears as the informant of the deaths of two of his mothers siblings in Perthshire. At this time his address is given as 10 Salford Road, Streatham Hill, London.
I am hoping that he might be found in Census or Street directories in the London area from the period after 1891 and any details of marriage and death etc.
I do not subscribe to Anc...y. His surname has cropped up with variations including Mackintosh.
Grateful for any help.

Hi groom and keyboard86
Thanks for swift responses. This helps fill gaps. Death date and place would be great if that was a possibility.
Thanks

Hi Dex, have you located his marriage in Scotland yet?

Hi Keyboard86
I was unaware that he married in Scotland believing that he had gone to London still single. I will be at the Scottish Record office next week and will obtain the details.
Thanks

This looks like the death of his mother in law
Deaths Dec 1913
Chapman Ann 87
Wandsworth 1d 666

There's this death of an Annie (his wife's name)
Deaths Dec 1949
Mackintosh Annie 87
Wandsworth 5d 657
But if she was 42 in 1911, that would be too old. It's possible they may have returned to Scotland as I can't see a death in Wandsworth that fits for John.

Thank you for your help and information. I now have more enquiries to do at the Scottish record office.
