Title: Morton - Edward Morton, Johnston Morton, Co Longford, Ireland
Post by: steviepeas on Thursday 15 March 18 17:04 GMT (UK)
I am looking for any help on the following particularly the Irish section of their lives:
MORTON, EDWARD MORTON, JOHNSTON MORTON
Who are supposedly from Longford, Ireland
Edward Morton, vitals unknown, Father to:
Johnston Morton, born Longford 1825 - died Liverpool 1888,
Johnston Married Clarinda Gallately 1848 in Clonmel died Liverpool 1880
Had son John, baptised in Ss Peter & Paul Church, Clonmel, Tipperary in 1855, this son does not figure in their lives in England, possibly died after baptism
Both Johnston & Clarinda migrated to Birkenhead, UK, between 1855 and 1862
I have a detailed record of their time in the England from 1862, its the prior Irish connection I am going round in circles on.

Hi,
This is the Tithe records.
Surname   Forename   Townland/Street   Parish   County   Year
Morton      Tom          Lashiney   Abbeyshrule   Longford   1825
Morton      Wm           Tashoney   Taghshinny   Longford   1830
These Parishes are near the town of Ballymahon, have a look on a map.

I have found an Edward Morton same area of Longford he went to Canada.

Also, a marriage of a Mary Ann Morton with the father being Johnston Morton in County Cavan.
