Title: PEARCY
Post by: tmp48 on Thursday 15 March 18 22:29 GMT (UK)
My late father-In-law and his sister was a PEARCY.

Our earliest PEARCY's lived in Mitcham, Surrey on 1841 Census.

Anyone know where they came from originally?

There are a couple of entries for Pearcy in the surnames index.  If you go to the bottom of any RootsChat page, in the brown section - Your Tools - Surname Index - Quick Search would give you the link to look up other researchers searching the same surname or you can add your own family details.
Hope this helps.

Hello,

If I am looking at the right family, Joseph Pearcy was born in Mitcham so you would be looking for parish records there, I would think.

Joseph was baptised 7 Aug 1808 in Mitcham, son of Joseph & Elizabeth Pacey (Ancestry, Surrey bmb's)

It's a pig of a surname to research, spelt all sorts of ways.

Pearcy, Pearcey, Pacey, Spacy, Peacy, Pacy - seen them all up in Northamptonshire, while doing a one-place study!
