Post by: Penninah on Saturday 17 March 18 03:01 GMT (UK)
Could somebody lookup a baptism and marriage for me please? Robert Carey (Carrey/Keary/Kerry) born circa 1750's-1760's strong possibility Abbeyleix, County Laois. He was in Jersey in 1804 with the third garrison battalion. A career soldier. Wife Ann, I have her with their son James in Southampton on the 1841 as born Ireland but no idea where. She is born c1764. Thanks and Happy St Patrick's day!

Civil registration of births, deaths and Catholic marriages started in 1864 (from 1845 for non-Catholic marriages) so for earlier dates you are dependent on finding church records (not all survive and of those that do not all are online).
