Robert Howling Dec 1856 Erpingham 4b 42 age 45
Lydia Howling Mar 1852 Erpingham 4b 53 age 40
I can find David Howling in 1861 working as a Farm Servant in Stody, Erpingham and Frederick Howling in 1871 lodging in White Lion Street, Holt, Erpingham. He is a Drover.
I cannot find anything for Robert or his sister Matilda.

This Robert H appears to marry Dec 1861;
Robert Howling 24, born 1837 North Elmham, Norfolk.
Lodging in living Mattishall Burgh.

Hi thank you
i did not have 1841 census
the marriage 1861
seems to fit better to the other robert born elmham market
i can follow them through to 1901
on 1851 i have my robert living edgefield
and the other robert living in Mattishal a servent born elmham market
so i am thinking 2 roberts similar age i did notice the father was robert but as my robert ( father ) was dead
i am thinking edgefield and elmham market are not that close together in norfolk
the only other thing i noticed was a death 1854 of a robert
looks like several of the children died around that time
all the same illness or was there an event they all died in ?
i did also notice that both lydia jacobs anad sister elizabeth married howling men
elizabeth jacob married john howling poss 1835
were the two howling men brothers

I think you need to be careful here as there are two Robert Howlings of much the same age. I don't think the Robert Howling 24, born 1837 North Elmham, Norfolk is yours.

The 1854 Death Reg;
HOWLINGS, ROBERT, age 16**

Yes I agree the Robert that married Elizabeth Wilson is not yours. I just posted for elimination purposes but forgot to say that!
This appears to be the one who married Elizabeth Wilson, living in North Elmham 1841;
Robert Howling, M 25-29 Norfolk
Mary Howling, F 25-29 Norfolk
Robert Howling, M 6 Norfolk
Hannah Howling, F 3 Norfolk
Thomas Howling,M 2 Norfolk

John Howling married Sarah Jacobs 28 July 1835 at Edgefield

I'm a bit confused here Andrea;
Quote;

on any census after 1851
He died 1854 so wont appear on 1861 Census.

I read that as Andrea saying she agreed that the 1854 death was him because she couldn’t find him after 1851, which probably meant he had died.
