I am wondering if anyone can help me find John & Frances Thomas in the 1911 Census. I have found them in the others census's but I am unable to find them on any of the usual sites in 1911.
I can see by their obituaries they were alive then.
This is some of the information in the 1901 census RG 13/5108

David ?I Thomas Son 1890 Born Llandebie

Any help gratefully recieved.

Where were they living in 1901
-
The Red Cow Inn Llandebie. (Llandybie) Carmarthan.
-
London Evening Standard 02 December 1893 has a Receiving order for John Thomas, Haulier & Innkeeper of that address
-
Yes, thanks. I don't think he was much of a business man!!! Apparently looking at the article he didn't keep any accounts.
-
I wonder if they avoided being on the Census some how.

Frances Thomas was buried 7/7/1904 Llandebie. She died at Carmarthen Asylum, home address The Red Cow.

Given that Frances had been in an Institute and died 1904 a possible match is John Thomas born 1856 Llandebie, Colliery Night Banksman above ground. Wife Mary Anne Thomas born 1867 Haverfordwest. Two daughters Maudi born 1904 & Gwendoline May born 1906 living at Llandebie.

Hi Ellenmai,
Thank you very much for the information. That is very interesting.
I had got a copy of Frances's Memorial Inscription and it has her death date out by 10 years - dying in 1924 instead of 1904. What a difference 10 years makes.
I had seen John Thomas whose wife was Mary Anne and because of the above had discounted them. But I think you are right - it is him. Thank you.
Looks like he didn't leave much time before having children with his new wife.
Could you tell me where you got the information about Frances from please.
Many Thanks.
Judy

Frances information was on FindMyPast under Carmarthenshire Burial Transcriptions, when you are looking don't use Llandebie just Carmarthenshire, as it won't come up for some reason. You can also find it on Family Search which has a link to FindMyPast :)
