According to her Marriage Cert in 1874 she was 20 so born 1854!

Father was Michael.

Witness was Lawrence (sibling?)

Looks like she had a sister Mary who married Christopher Salmon in 1873.

Just a matter of looking for registrations...

You can amend search and look for Death of father.....informant might be his widow or another sibling etc

I could look, but many people enjoy making their own discoveries!

Father was Michael.

I would read her age as 28 based on the handwriting on the page
This would make her date of birth c1846

Christopher SALMON m Mary FORAN (F) James FORAN
This is not Anne's sister as she was a McCARTHY/CARTY before she married

Mary FORAN may have been her husband John's sister

Normally they write Full Age, unless under 21

I didn't spend much time looking as I left it to poster who might prefer making their own discoveries.

Looking at the way the number 8 is written in each of the years on that page of marriages I'd be inclined to agree her age is 28.

So born 1845/6... not 1843.

No point in poster just searching 1843 for her.

I'm still on  looking for a missing birth father..mcguinness?? This is now the highest 4th cousin DNA match on the side of missing dad. Ancestry subscription ran out, can't renew until end of month..

This is years long search and a 14month DNA search..probably dead by now..

You could try putting a letter in the local paper in westmeath.

Have you got any of her children's birth certificates if often says who was at the birth mainly sisters of mums.

When she died what did the obituary say did it say wife of and also daughter of

I only have her children and husband's family and now her dad Michael.
I've put a few in westmeath examiner, Never Had A Response.

tresario

I have found eight civil records of births for this couple
All show her name as CARTY as does her marriage record
There are four baptisms accessible on-line
Notable on all is a lack of the names CARTY in witnesses or sponsors

At the time of her marriage her occupation was a servant
I wonder was she from another area?

If you search for a Michael CARTY in Westmeath in the Griffiths Valuations LINK (http://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/index.xml?action=doNameSearch&Submit.x=12&Submit.y=8&Submit=Submit&familyname=carty&firstname=michael&baronyname=&countyname=WESTMEATH&unionname=&parishname=)
There are only three hits; all in Kilkenny West, Westmeath; two in Carrickfin and one in Tobberclare

It doesn't immediately help with your search but could prove useful if you find more information later

Have you tried writing to Church and ask if they can put in Parish magazine??

I have a christening record, spoke to the parish before. Sometimes the priest has a note of fathers of illegitimate children, just not in this case. The people that were God parents are called smith. No longer in the area. Have next door neighbour and family who played together as kids ( she was granny reared until her grandfather died, granny took her back to England but died on the boat journey. The police took her to her now married birth mothers house introduced as as her sister. She forgot and called her mammy, the birth mother beat her, she ran away. Police found her, mom had her put in foster care and never contacted her again..She was 5/6. I found the mom,now deceased a few years ago, she gave that name. Mcguinness as birth dad before she died.) She wants closure..the search goes on.
