I would like to find out more about the marriage of a 'Han' Charles Tyrrell in April 1898.
(It is transcribed as 'Han' on at least 2 web sites, and as 'Henry' on another).
The marriage is registered in the Blything registration district.
I understand this district no longer exists.
I think the Tyrrells (Tyrells) were from Haughley, and I'm hoping from the 2 names given on the index, that he married Sarah Goddard.
In the 1881 and 1891, Sarah Goddard works as a cook/housekeeper in the h/h of the Tyrrells at Haughley. I can't find her in 1901, so I suspect the above is her marriage.
I'm not sure if anybody can check marriages at this date - I realise I may just have to bite the bullet and send for the certificate!

It’s Henry Charles Tyrrell in the GRO typed index (Jun qtr 1898). Where are you getting “Han” from?

I guess I will have to buy the marriage cert to see who their parents were.

I am a bit confused here.
Are you trying to find out what happened to the SG from 1881/1891 Census?
Or are you descended from the 1898 Marriage?

These are 2 different Sarah Goddards - the one who was a servant in Haughley was bc.1851 Troston, Suffolk (age fluctuates a bit in the census), dau. of Charles and Anna - the one who married Henry Charles Tyrrell was bc.1866 Theberton, Suffolk (dau. of a John and Sarah). Henry Charles Tyrrell was born 1869 Holborn, London, the son of a Henry John Tyrrell and Emily Amelia Bateman.
I'm confused too - is it purely the Sarah Goddard who was a servant in Haughley that you are interest in? If so, this Sarah married a George Clark, 16/9/1891 Acton, Middlesex - in 1901 they are in Tewin, Hertfordshire and after that in Sandy, Bedfordshire.

You have managed to find the parents of the one who married Henry Charles Tyrrell - that's what I didn't know. Many thanks for that.
You've also found the marriage of the Sarah who was the servant in Haugley (which is the one I'm interested in). That's great. Thank you very much.

Having just watched 'Who Do You Think You Are', I stumbled onto RootsChat and, Wow! I find you looking for information on (among others) Henry Charles Tyrrell. He was my Grandad! I have now joined the Forum and look forward to some exciting researches as I learn a bit more how to use it!
