Hello , I am hoping to find the death of a William henry Snell who was born in Devon , England and went over to Toronto in 1907 and married Sarah Barnes Prout in 1908 . Sarah died in 1919.
Any help would be much appreciated , thank you .

Hi Sandra , according to their marriage cert he was 22 in 1908 . I have been told he built 278 Merton St , he was a bricklayer .

Thanks Sandra , I think he did get married again and maybe it was 442 Merton St he built , I looked at 278 Merton st and it did not look likely . I would like to find a gravestone if possible , I searched for Sarah's but no joy .

Ada Elizabeth Snell (nee Page) died January 17, 1986. Wife of the late William H Snell. Interment Thornhill Cemetery.

Just found the standard "Notice to Creditors" ... notifying anyone with a claim against the estate of a deceased... for William Henry Snell. It says he died March 14, 1961. His address had been 442 Merton Street. He was a builder. Ada Snell was administratrix.
It was posted in the Globe and Mail newspaper in Sept of 1974.

Gladys May Snell Campbell died May 1 1973. Her address had been 6 Tangmere Road, Don Mills (part of Toronto). Wife of Earl Campbell. Mother of D and M. Sister of Ruth (Mrs M Turner) of England and Leonard C Snell of Willowdale (also a part of Toronto). Interment Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

He was 74 years old. Plot Z, Section 24, Lot 7

According to the Mount Pleasant site, Sarah is also in Plot Z, section 24, Lot 7.

Must have been a mistranscription somewhere. A J could very easily look like a Z. :)

Also in the same plot is a little William Henry Snell who died in 1913, aged 24 days :'(

Hello , I just tried doing a search for their grave on www.findagrave.com and can't seem to navigate the site like I used to or request a photo by some volunteer ,I don't know what I am doing wrong ? Does anyone else have problems ?

You may find a few RAOGK volunteers for Toronto willing to take Cemetery photographs on this link.
Usually they require the grave location, so you may have to contact the cemetery first to see if they can tell you that information.

Plot Z, Section 24, Lot 7 at Mount Pleasant Cemetery should probably be enough information to find it. :)
I hope someone can take a photo of William's stone for you. I don't see it on the Findagrave site or on the Canadian Headstones site. Mount Pleasant is a really big cemetery!!

When I first read the post this morning I must have been half asleep - read page 1, so saw Ada at Thornhill Cemetery, somehow missed page 2 and replied to Alan about Find A grave on page 3 !!!!!

We know Margaret Snell died in 1954 and Canada Voters List 1957/58 showed W H with Ada at Merton Street in 1957/58
Unfortunately there are no marriage records online for that time period. :-\

I take your point Sandra . Pity there is no occupation for Sarah , that would have been interesting , they had no children at that time , I was hoping for nanny or nursery worker .
