Good morning,
I have been going through some old books that I brought from Mum's home when she died a few years ago. A couple of them have names and dates written in the front. I expect that they were bought at jumble sales or second hand book shops.
One of them is "The Traveller's pocket farrier Or a treatise upon the Distempers and Commons Incidents Happeing to HORSES on a Journey... etc etc" (very long title!!). It is a sixth edition, first published in 1655.
The book apparently belonged to a William French from Wardington, Oxfordshire. He has written the date 1819.
If any descendant of William French reads this post, I would gladly return the book! ;D
