Hi all
I'm trying to find census information on my GtGt Grandmother's family:
Mary Jane Thomas was born 11 Aug 1855, daughter of Thomas Maurice Thomas and his wife Elizabeth Williams. Mary Jane Thomas married George Edward Williams 14 Aug 1877: I have their marriage certificate which has Thomas Maurice Thomas as Mary Jane's father, origin Merthyr Tydfil. I have been unable to find Thomas Maurice Thomas at all on census returns, apart from the 1851:

I note that Mary Jane married in Staffordshire in 1877.
If you're unable to find Thomas Maurice Thomas at all on census returns, apart from the 1851, then I guess that means you don't have Mary Jane on 1861 or 1871 prior to her marriage either?

Before I go trundling off down the trail of a road already travelled...... :)
Are you already aware that Thomas Maurice THOMAS went to Australia in 1883? Died there 1903, Cooktown QLD . Apparently Immigrated with a second wife Mary THOMAS married 1878, as wife Elizabeth had died? Presumably with all his minor children at the time - Hannah Emiah being one of them.
There is quite a tree on A. - appears well researched, though I haven't looked in depth; I note it has the twins' birthplace as Llangefelach, Glamorgan, Wales.
Still haven't yet found TMT in 1861 though - or 1881.

the birthplace in Carmarthenshire is Laugharne. There is a possible baptism 25 November 1827 for Thomas Morris Thomas son of Edmund, a sailor, and Elizabeth. Edmund Thomas of Laugharne married Elizabeth Dickers/Dickens 9 Aug 1927 in St Clears with consent of relations.

By the way, the note of Merthyr Tydfil on the marriage cert is where the person marrying was living at the time. It isn't where they of their father came from.

name for father of Thomas on 1848 marriage looks more like Edward but he was a sailor.

likely baptism for Elizabeth Dickers 31 Aug 1807 daughter of Abraham & Betty in Lympstone, Devon. On later family baptisms, Abraham is noted as carpenter.
Abraham Dicker married Elizabeth Dowdney of Lympstone 2 July 1803 at Exeter St George.
Abraham buried aged 60 15 march 1836 in Lympstone, address Exeter
