This is exactly who I am interested in. John Henry Robertson Jackson Crowe was my paternal grandmother's brother. They were both born in Elgin. My grandmother, Victoria Hylda Mary at age 27, came to Australia in 1914. I am interested to know if John and Christine had children and if so are they still alive. I can't come up with anything and don't know where to look now. I have nine siblings and between us we have 18 children and there are plenty of children from them, so if there are any relatives in Scotland, they have a heap of relatives in Australia.

I had a quick look on the births in England using the mother's maiden name but nothing seems to jump out ...Maybe look on the Electoral Rolls to see where they were living ..I did see John Crowe
On the Valuation Record in 1925 at the address listed on the probate record .on Scotland's People ...Will see if I can find anything else

I just came across the name Norma C Crowe on Scotlands People and it stated something about 1922 , Aberdeen and St Nicholas, which is one of the churches in Aberdeen. Don't really know what it was about.

Eliza Robertson, daughter of Charles Dwight Robertson of Aberdeen, married John Crowe around Liverpool England in 1875 and they moved up to Scotland, where they lived in Elgin. Don’t know why Eliza went to England, probably for a job, but I’m wondering if John was born around Liverpool area. Very hard to tell because there seem to be so many John Crowe’s born in England. Can’t tell who is who and I’ve no idea what his parent’s names were. I think he was born somewhere around 1850. Charles Dwight Robertson seems to be missing a wife too. I’m going around the twist.

If he died in Scotland, his death certificate should tell you the full names of both his parents, including his mother's maiden surname.

In case anyone's wondering, in 1871 John's occupation was a labourer at the harbour and Margaret was a woolen millworker. Information gleaned from Freecen :)

Hello. Thank you for all the help. Looked up the birth, on the Scotlands People site, for Eliza Robertson, who eventually married John Crowe. She was apparently born is Glasgow to Charles Dwight and Eliza Robertson née McBain but the only registration I can find, which is likely to be around the right time, is a girl, Eliza, to Charles Robertson and Eliza Fraser at 122 New City Road Glasgow on 29/9/1856. Can't find an Eliza McBain anywhere. ??? The census records say that Eliza was born in Glasgow and she was 4 at the time of the 1861 census.

On the birth certificate for Eliza 1856 Glasgow what was Charles's occupation ? ..Have not been able to find Eliza McBain ? No marriage etc notice on the death for Charles it says married to Eliza McBain she is not down as deceased ..On the 1861 Census Charles is still showing as Married ...Maybe try and see what happened to the son Henry Jackson Robertson
