I have John Jones b Mydrim 1806 married to Esther Thomas b 1804 at Mydrim, Carmarthenshire, Wales
they married 07 March 1843 St Peter, Carmarthen
Esther seems to have died 02 July 1883 at Mydrim
By 1841 they are living at Trelech a'r Bettws and on 1851 the family is still at Trelech:
John Jones 43
Esther Jones 48
William Jones 12
Francis Jones 9
Henry Jones 2
If possible, I would like to know where John and Esther are buried please. Many thanks.

The 1861 census has the family at Castellpigin (ref RG09 4145 8 9) - reduces the search period for year/s of death.
-
Thanks for that. I should have given that census, as that is the last I can see of John Jones [in 1871] the 1881 may show his wife. She is a widow, from Trelech and has a grand-daughter named Susaneny which I assume is Susannah or a pet form of this. John James Jones who is either Esther's son or grandson, has a daughter named Susannah so the Esther in 1881 may well be my

Have you taken a look into St Teilo's Church which is there.
-
Thank you Anthony, but I am unable to get there. I live outside Wales these days.
-
Is this the 1881 "Esther Jones, washerwoman" in 1871?
Census ref - RG10 5499 6 6
Did your John and Esther have a son David?
-
Yes there is a David. Born ca 1845. And yes to your earlier message I believe that may well be the Esther I need.
-
Cannot see a David in either the '51 (William, Francis, Henry) or '61 (William, Henry, John) Census.
-
I have a Jones line from Mydrim also! If I'm correct, I am descended from William JONES (native of Llangathen) and Mary LEWIS (native of Mydrim) married in Mydrim 13 Apr 1758, via their son Theophilus.
-
My mistake. Sorry there is no David. I looked at my family tree and there is David shown, but this is an error. On the 1851 census are shown:
John Jones 43
Esther Jones 48
William Jones 12
Francis Jones 9
Henry Jones 2

Hi Ayashi,
I have a William but born abt 1839 in Trelech. If we have taken these place names from census then with my families they change birthplaces often.
My William's parents are John Jones b 1809 and Esther Thomas b 1804. They married 7th March 1873 St Peter, Carmarthenshire, Wales. Do you connect. Yours are earlier aren't they?
My John's parents were John Jones and Ann James.
-
Your John Snr would be the same generation as Theophilus. I have no known Johns, unfortunately, and as I say my earliest Jones comes from Llangathen, although for all I know more of his family might have come over as well.
It is unfortunate, I'd like to match up with a Jones and I got all excited. My mother's DNA is on Ancestry if that helps at all.
-
Yes DNA Kit numbers help a lot. Where do I look on ancestry - have you a tree? I can PM you.
