John GARNER was a son of William GARNER & Eleanor WRIGHTE born about 1792 according to census records.
His siblings were born/baptised at Thrussington so assume he also was born/baptised in that locale.
Assistance gratefully received.

What proof do you have that his parents are William and Eleanor?
Where did William and Eleanor marry, if he was first born child may have been baptized in her home parish.
-
Looking at the images for the parish registers, I cannot see any baptisms between James (1785) and Joseph (1795).
Marriage John William and Eleanor - 1776
Thomas - 1776
Elizabeth - 1778
William - 1780
Daniel - 1782
James - 1785
Joseph - 1795
-
The censuses in Thrussington give his birth place as Hoby.
John son of Daniel and Sarah was baptised in Hoby on 25th May 1792.
Daniel Garner married Sarah Fewkes in Frisby on the Wreake on 13th July 1783.
His abode is given as Whissendine but probably born in Hoby - baptised on 11th June 1757, son of Daniel and Elizabeth - married Elizabeth Hubbert in Hoby on 16th May 1743.

For some strange reason I did not receive any notification of replying posts so apologies for my late reply.
As to the conundrum: I too couldn't find any baptisms for William & Eleanor between James (1785) and Joseph (1795).
I'm assuming Bumbleb you meant William rather than John??
As to proof - no no proof and just an assumption I was following which looks like it took me up the garden path so to speak.
On the marriage for William & Eleanor in 1776 in Thrussington, it noted William was a widower and Eleanor a single woman. As yet I cannot locate William's previous marriage although there is a baptism for an Elizabeth GARNER to a William & Eleanor on 10 Apr 1775. Perhaps William's first wife was also an Eleanor.
Any ideas???

Oops, sorry, yes I did mean William and Eleanor :'( :-[
Just a thought, I assume you have seen the marriage entry for them - the fact that William was a widower :-\

Hello BumbleB,
Yes and as yet cannot find the first marriage. ???

19 June 1770 at Thrussington. Both residing in this parish = Anne Chambers
Anne, wife of William Garner, buried at Thrussington, 18 February 1772.
-
It seems more likely his parents are Daniel and Sarah Garner, based on census information, he was living in Thrusssington but states he was born in Hoby
-
Daniel & Sarah were married at Frisby on the Wreake 13 July 1783 by Banns
Daniel Garner of Whissendine Rutland Bachelor & Sarah Fewkes of this parish spinster

Hello Bunnygirl & David,
To be sure: As I understand it you are saying John GARNER is the son of Daniel GARNER & Sarah FEWKES and not the son of William GARNER & Eleanor WRIGHTE as initially proposed?
Thanks a million for your assistance.

Based on this date of marriage I am going to see if its possible to find this William's parents possibly with a baptism for William about 1745. Your thoughts??
