I have my cousins, Horace Thomas Mabley Vincent, will which says that he had a house and shop at 218-220 Woodcock St Kingston Upon Hull when he died Jan. 1 1951, which he left to his wife, Maria Bertha Vincent.
Can anyone tell me what kind of shop it may have been.
Is there somewhere to look for further information?
He left the merchant navy in June 1949 so am presuming he bought it around that time.
Is it possible to find out what happened to the shop and Maria Bertha after his death?
Thank you for your help.

I remember it well...my Grandma lived down Edinburgh Street and I went in that shop many times for her.

It has just undergone regeneration so it looks very different now.

Carol and Stan thank you very much for your posts and links.
Horace's father had a grocery shop at one stage so I suppose it was a natural thing for him to go into.
Fancy you having been into the shop Carol, I wonder if Maria was there then.
