I am hoping to be in the Aberdeen area next week and would like to explore Newhills churchyard for Barron, Ferries and Adam graves. The Ferries would be around 1950 and Adam 1948 and 1966. The Barron one earlier.
Is there a number, such as the lairs department, I could ring to see if the people I am interested in are recorded in the Newhills records. I have explored the information on ANEFHS and see there is a record of the name Adam and is part of the family that I am interested in but the particular name I am interested in is not quoted.
Thanks
Betty

Have you tried DeceasedOnline? I think they now have the Aberdeenshire burial records.

Thanks for the link. I have had a look at the site but did not find the people I was looking for.
Thanks for your time

You could contact Aberdeen City Council and ask their advice. It looks like they need dates of deaths which you might get them from Scotland's Peoples website

Hope this link works
Nb just a word of warning if visiting Newhills, it's always cold up there even on a seemingly nice day

Thanks for the link. I will give them a phone when they open.
Last time I visited a churchyard in the Aberdeen area it was blowing a gale and snowing and that was April. Fingers crossed.

Hi Betty
There is one Barron gravestone coming up on Billion Graves - https://billiongraves.com/grave/Charles-MacLeod-Barron/14287586
Stone may be faded as it shows the following transcript Epitaph:
In loving memory of my dear husband Charles MacLeod Barron who died ? June ?

Hi Monica
Thanks for the information. I had seen this one but at the moment I do not know if there is a connection to my family but I will certainly keep it in mind.
Thanks for your time.

Just to let you know that we had success at Newhills yesterday. We found the Ferries grave that I was looking for. Suprisingly very quickly.
There was a big black cloud hovering so we did not linger. Ferries was the main one I was looking for. We also had success at the Grove but took a wrong turning for Kinellar so we will save that for another day.
Thanks all for your help.

That is good news! Also good you avoided the downpour...or the threat of one!
