Title: A date for John please
Post by: nanny jan on Saturday 14 April 18 10:18 BST (UK)
Is there anything on this photo that you give me a rough date of when it was taken. John was born around 1868 if that helps.
Thanks.

Hi NJ  :)

I've got photos of 'sporty' family members that are mid 1890s- early 1900s that have a similar look.

Hi Gadget  :)

Thanks;  there is nothing at all on the back of the photo to help and I suspect that it has been cut down as the edges are very rough (thanks grandpa I guess you did that  ::) ).

Oh don't you want to tell them off when they do that! Someone (maybe my father  :-X ) stuck sellotape over some damaged photos. It took me ages to restore them!

I think he looks in his mid-late 20s. My grandfather had a similar hair style and 'tache circa 1900.

I agree with his estimated age of mid-late 20s. I thought I had seen this ome before then realised he is the man in your avatar  8)
