Hi,
I had an aunt called Beattie (or Beatrice) Simmonds who was possibly born at around 1920ish at Clifton House, New Road, Brynteg Wrexham.
She was the daughter of James and Maria Simmonds and had 7/8 siblings.
She moved at some stage to somewhere in the London area and died in the last few years as Beattie Plummer.
Does anyone rcognise her from this description?

It certainly looks like it could be her. I would need to check on the date of her parents marriage.
I think her mother Maria Matthias was from Broughton and her father James form Birmingham?

That's the correct family, as cross checking William James Simmond's birth from the GRO site gives this:

I doubt very much if that can be right given the date!

There is a death of a Jules Alfred Plummer(1916-1999) in Colchester.Perhaps Julie is a misprint for Jules.

That must be it Roger! Thanks. Jules Alfred Plummer died 22 August 1999. (from Gov. Find a Will site) He doesn't appear to have left a will as it says "Grant only"

I would like to know if my aunt Beatrice left a will. Any ideas how I could find out and possibly see it?

Have you got a date of death, even a rough one? If so you can look on this site.

Be careful though as not all of those had wills:
‘Probate’ or ‘Grant and Will’ - a will exists and will be provided
‘Admon with Will’ or ‘Grant and Will’ - a will exists and will be provided
‘Administration (Admon) or Grant’ - a will doesn’t exist and won’t be provided
If she did leave a will you can apply for it on that site for £10 and it's usually ready to download in about 5 days.

I wonder if he was just known as Nick rather than Jules? It's a bit of a coincidence and there are no other Plummer/Beatrice Simmonds marriages.
