Is there a site where you can view ore 1858 wills for free that covers Norfolk please?
-
If the will is at the Norfolk Record Office then try
www.norfolksources.norfolk.gov.uk
They are scanning wills after 1800 onto the site.
-
The NRO have a great website with lots of searchable data.
They are great with copying wills and so as as well and with replying to emails. I have ordered several things from them and always had an excellent service.
Go to advanced search and put the surname you want to search in the title box and then 'will' in the description box to get the search results for wills.
The website is here:
http://nrocat.norfolk.gov.uk/DServe/public/searches/nroadvanced.htm
Kind regards,

Many Norfolk wills, but not all, are freely available on the FamilySearch website.
i.e. Norwich Consistory Court
https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/410095?availability=Family%20History%20Library
Use NROCAT first of course.

Thank you amondg, Jon and Jon, much appreciated. I will try these various links.
Kind regards

Some of the Archdeaconry of Norfolk and Archdeaconry of Norwich Wills are also available to view via familysearch. Some have yet to be digitised and some of the Archdeaconry of Norfolk Wills have been restricted to their Family History Centres and Affiliate Libraries only (they have a key above the camera icon). However, many are viewable.
Archdeaconry of Norwich:
https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/504379?availability=Family%20History%20Library
Archdeaconry of Norfolk:
https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/291384?availability=Family%20History%20Library
As Jon stated in his post about the Consistory Court Wills, you need to check the NROCAT catalogue first.

So in my aim to prove my theory that Sarah Bower who married John Pycraft in Filby in 1743 is the daughter of Richard Bower and Sarah Nalburgh who married in 1717 it seems I am going to have to go though all the Filby wills for the period and hope that she is mentioned in one of them along with other relatives!
I have therefore extracted the following wills from NROCAT for the period of people in Filby and now need some help as to identifying which will be available to view at familysearch. Can anyone please give me any tips on this to make the job as less laborious as possible please?!
Any help would be massively appreciated here.
Thanks,
Jon

The 1720/1 of widow Mary Nalborough I already have ordered from NRO and is that of the mother in law of Richard Bower. It names her daughter Sarah but not their children.
It does however have Nathaniel Cowper as a witness so his 1721 will is if interest. But not sure if that might be on familysearch
I just need someone to help me how to most easily search for them and if all the wills should be there or not!
Thanks again,
Jon

ANW is Archdeaconry of Norwich
ANF is Archdeaconry of Norfolk
And NCC I think you already know.
My advice is just check the Familysearch catalogue to see what they have and which years have been digitised, subject to any restricted to FHCs only.

That is great! Thank you.
