Looking through some old paperwork I found a business card for Arnold Smith, Managing Director Wylie Bros Ltd Slate merchants South Shields, mid 1930s. Cannot trace anything after 1938 which was when he joined Merchant Navy. Is there any record of the company after 1938 or was it closed down at that stage?
btw my late father in law.
