Post by: Glenno52 on Sunday 22 April 18 11:02 BST (UK)
After any information on Adam Chandler and his parents possibly Robert Chandler and Veronique Chandler? Adam born 19 November 1825 at Wiltshire. Baptised 18 December 1825 at Chiseldon.
Emigrated to South Australia 24 March 1851 from Plymouth, Devon.
Died 24 July 1876 Lyndoch South Australia.
Spouses name Louisa Baker.
Louisa and Adam had a son David Joseph born in 1855 who is my Great Grand Father.
Would particularly like information on Adams parents, grandparents etc.

Ann Chandler bap    5 Oct 1823    - poss buried 28 Jan 1855
Adam Chandler bap18 Dec 1825
Mary Veronique Chandler bap  11 Jan 1829    buried 18 Mar 1829 aged 14 months
Agnes Chandler bap 21 Nov 1830

Burial
Robert Chandler    28 Oct 1831, aged 45

I can;t find Veronique (or Mary Veronique as she is on one baptism) after this.  I can see Adam on 1841, not with obvious family, and Agnes in the workhouse in 1851, so suspect she may have died as well. Adam may well have emigrated if there was little in the way of family ties to keep him there

Welcome to Rootschat, Glenno52

A Robert Chandler born Chiseldon circa 1785 served in the Horse Guards from 1805 to 1818. I wonder if Veronique was French or Belgian.

All the info looks promising. Veronique is a mystery though?
Still... happy to have gone back from Queensland 2018 for a journey of 250+ years into the family history :)
