Hi, hope someone can solve the mystery for me.
William Beveridge born 1847 in Dunfermline married Grace Gibb and I have found the records however........ when I search for the couple under Grace Gibb I always find Grace Hill married to the same William Beveridge !

Did he marry twice or maybe Grace had been married before?
Which records are you looking at?

I can see his mother was Grace Hill - and his father was William - could that be where the confusion has arisen.
Can't see the full census but William the son seems to be with parents not with a wife - when did he marry Grace Gibb?

Wonder if William was brought up by his g/parents & gave their names as parents?
I don't have enough time at the moment to work out the ages & that possibility as I need to go out for now but someone else could maybe do the arithmetic? :P
