Hi,

Wonder if this is him in 1891?

Henry Coleman a Farm Servant aged 16 in Moulton St Michael, Depwade, Norfolk. Birth place given as Broom, Norfolk. Servant to a Robert & Maria Spicer, Robert  a Farmer. (RG12/1546/9/12).

Hope this helps.

Kind regards

Thank you David, you seemed to have found him in 1891, well it certainly sounds like him.

I can't find his birth/baptism and I don't think his parent were married when he was born  they married in Feb 1875 and had a baby born in Dec 1875

Ancestry hints, for what they are worth, say he is Henry Elijah Copping (registered Dec 1874 Hartismere)

Oh! So maybe he was not Henry Coleman's son, who just took on the Coleman name when his mother married Henry Coleman

Henry Coleman and Matilda Copping are witnesses to the marriage of William Watling and Maria Vyse at Tivetshall St Margaret 8 January 1874.

So they definitely knew each other as of that date, so he could be the father.

Thank you, he was the first child of my great great great grandparent(s) and I knew he was born before they married but for some reason didn't think of searching for him under her surname... looked for a death, a marriage even migration and found lots that 'fit' but none that 'prove'
