Place of birth
Place of death

Any info on this family would be much appreciated.

Victorian BDM is free to search
https://online.justice.vic.gov.au/bdm/indexsearch.doj
You can see William and Mary's children's births:
1861 Hugh (died 1865)
1862 Rosanna (died 1862)
1863 Alice
1865 Willy
1867 Hateridge
1869 Margaret

Mary's death in 1888 aged 46, parents Dougall KENNEDY and Anne WARD.
Modified to add: Sorry, you probably already had this info?
-
Thanks for all that, I am unable to find a birth for William but he may of died 1891 Castlemaine...
But if this is he he would of been born abt 1811 and the extract says he was 80yrs, this making him quiet older than Mary who was born abt 1842 and died 1888?? ???
-
The age gap is not unheard of. I have several similar couples in my tree where there is a considerable gap in age between them.
-
A number of births to father William TASKER.
There may be various spellings of Mary's surname, and I cannot be sure, in this case, she is Mary KENNEDY
TASKER, Gilbert
Father William
Mother Mary KENELY
Birth place Guil (Guildford1881 #3215
There is a will for the man you mention above.
https://www.prov.vic.gov.au/explore-collection/explore-topic/wills-and-probates
TASKER, Wm.
Parents not known
Aged 80.
At Castlemaine.
1891 #9738
TASKER, William who died in 1891. He was a farmer of Yapeen.
The will is short and to the point.
All estate is left to Gilbert.
Executors are requested to take guardianship of the child.
There is no mention of anyone else as inheritor.

Looking at the Victorian Pioneer Index, I am seeing the Mary KENELY variation as mother of a number of children with William TASKER at Guildford There is one child named Dougal born in 1873.
Prior to that there were a number at Yapeen, and the Loddon in the name KENNEDY
You can search the Victorian BMD index yourself at

The only birth with Wm as father, all others you'll find with William.
9703 1873 TASKER Dougall parents TASKER Wm and Mary (Kenely) GUILDFORD
If you are going to seach BDM, don't put mother's maiden name.
There are 12 children from 1861 to 1883.
Jamjar
If all 12 children are Mary's then Gilbert wasn't the youngest, Ernest Henry was, yet no mention of him in the will. It looks like Ernest died in 1965, aged 84. Although his mother is has middle name of Christina.
Gilbert died 1949 aged 67 and Ernest is mentioned in his death notice.

This William TASKER was a convict to VDL .
His birth date tallies with reported age at death.
Had you looked at this possibility before?

That's interesting, as I have been searching for 'Hateridge' and have found nothing other then his birth. Then I found a VIC birth to a 'Gutheredge' Joseph TASKER and Mary Ann SAMPSON. This is the only reference to the couple I can find.
Then on Trove I found references to Tasker Sampson's in TAS.
There is also a burial for a George Utterage Tasker at Karrakatta and the age fits with the Hateridge birth in 1867.

This looks like William TASKER departing VDL for Melbourne in 1852.

MMmmm.....
So I think this looks like his baptism.
His convict record states born Baldock,Hertford,England.
William Whyers TASKER
Baptism Date 4 Aug 1811
Baptism Place Baldock,Hertford,England
Fathe William Tasker
Mother Mary
No image unfortunately.

This English marriage would also agree with the information in the convict records.
William TASKER
Marriage Date 22 Apr 1832
Marriage Place Baldock,Hertford,England
Spouse Ann FARR
FHL Film Number 991305
Still can't be sure he is the chap who married KENNEDY. ???

Yes I did look briefly at convict records, but wasn't sure but if the dates tally I'm a happy girl :D
So the William Tasker I'm looking for must of marry again when he arrived in Victoria as here is his marriage? Any ideas?

I would not yet assume the convict is your man who married KENNEDY.
The marriage certificate uniting the two, will have more details.
Meantime, really grasping at a straw ::)
A possible for the marriage of the parents of convict William TASKER.
We know his father was William and his mother Mary...
William TASKER
Marriage Date 26 May 1801
Marriage Place Saint Stephen,Norwich,Norfolk,England
Spouse Mary EDRIDGE
FHL Film Number 0993969, 0993970
Does EDRIDGE sound enough like 'Hateridge'
Common to see mother's maiden name as a given name in offspring.
Don't know!

I can only see this which is a death. So hard to connect.

Birth Year abt 1849
Age36

Mother Mary Ann SAMPSON

For interest ;D
In 1841 William and Mary TASKER, the probable parents of the convict live in Baldock Hertfordshire and he is an ag lab
Of significance, they have a son named Eddridge (sic).
So it begins to look like it was indeed the TASKER/EDRIDGE marriage who became the parents of the convict William TASKER.
Sue
ADDING
Eddridge and Utteridge (Per the West Australian burial cited by Jamjar)
Quite similar ;)

Thanks for your research I will keep that in mind about Hateriage Tasker, Yes will get marriage cert of William Tasker and Mary Ann Kennedy ;D
-
Yes Thank You very much :D
-
Good.
Very interested to hear the information contained.
By the time of Edridge's marriage his name was .
Marriages Sep 1845
PEEL Ann
TASKER Edridge Wires
Hitchin 6/ 715
Wires would be a misspelling of the name WHYERS which, as a middle-name, was shared by convict William TASKER, and other siblings of the family too.

I think I've worked this one out. There are Thomas TASKER and Isabella GUTHERIDGE having children in VIC in the 1860s.
