Title: Boer War medal entitlement.
Post by: Red Tom on Monday 07 May 18 10:43 BST (UK)
Having successfully obtained my wife's g.grandfather's unclaimed WW1 medals,I wonder if anyone could help me to discover which medals he would have been entitled to wear re his Boer War service,so I can possibly obtain copies?

There were two medals the Queen's South Africa and the King's South Africa Medals.  The criteria are complicated, you will need to compare his service dates with the criteria, best to Google them both.  The KSA has two clasps, the QSA a maximum of 23 depending on the engagements/service.

Best approach is to look him up on the medal rolls which will show his entitlement. Ancestry and FindMyPast both have rolls which at of course at the National Archives.
