Title: COMPLETED: 1939 Register
Post by: Tony Freeman on Wednesday 09 May 18 10:48 BST (UK)
I have been looking up a relative in the 1939 National Register.

Mary Cleary is located in Little Friston near Eastbourne working as a private nurse.
She is recorded as being single.
However, the records have been revised to show her name as Mary Doran.
Mary did marry a Matthew Doran but that was not until 24 April 1946.
In the left hand column, there is a note stating "20.6.46, EHA, M".

Was it normal to go back into the 1939 National Register and input revised information?

The 1939 register was used and updated by the NHS until the early 1990's
