Looking for information on Jonathon Morehouse. The only information i have on him is his family was originally from Ireland, may have served for the crown during the american revolutionary war and settled in Nova Scotia in 1784 after the Americans gained Independence.
His fathers name was Isaac and his grandfathers name was Samuel. Any info would be nice, i'd love to know were in Ireland we are from.

There is a baptism in Dublin of Isaac Morehouse here

Father has been transcribed as ‘Page’ but the record looks to read ‘of age’ I think.
I am not sure whether that fits into your timeline. Where do you have Samuel as Isaac’s father?

It's from the genealogy of the families of old fairfield in the united states.

Where is the Irish link though?

That's what I'm trying to find out. Short version of Family story that was passed to me.
We travelled to the new world from Ireland, survived and lived in the united stated for a couple generations. Fought for the loyalists and then moved to Canada when they lost.
I can get as far back as Abraham Morehouse but he is still in the U.S

Samuel was born 1724 in US so you have a difficult task.
-
Is this the same family?

‘Thomas, the immigrant ancestor’ in 1600s.

Blimey yes. THOMAS MOREHOUSE,In 1653 he settled in Fairfield. Wow, just WOW.
Heywood, Kudos to you.

There is a lot of info here but I'm having a hard time Finding Samuel Morehouse Baptised 26 Dec 1779 in Fairfield. hmmm
-
I know nothing of those records except what I found by googling.
From that, also, it may be that your Morehouse may be from England rather than Ireland. :-\
-
it wouldn't really matter where they are from, i'm at a total loss.
I'm just trying to figure out which branch of the Morehouse Family moved to Nova Scotia. All I have are some names. Abigail, Isaac, John and Samuel. I know Abigail is the wife but not sure witch of the guys is the Father son and brother, I think John may be her son.
From Fairfield United States to Gullivers Cove, Digby, Nova Scotia. some time shortly before or after the end of the revolutionary war.

You did initially write that ‘the only information I have on him was that he was originally from Ireland’ and if you post that- that is where people would try to look.
I have just searched those names and some ancestry tree pages show. I don’t know how reliable they are or not.
Does this fit with your timeline?
Abigail Johnson 1796 - 1876 Waterford, Digby, NS
Isaac Morehouse spouse son of John Morehouse (no dates)
Children Abigail and Hannah
1838 census here - William, James and Isaac Morehouse named - shows several children but no names

I am sure you have already found these references

I will ask a moderator if your search should be moved to a more appropriate forum.
Topic moved to Canada.

At this point in time the specific dates aren't as important. This was a verbal com I had with my 90+ year great Aunt Doris after travelling to the east coast for my Grandfather's burial at sea. She told me her side of the family history and I found it interesting so i'm just trying to substantiate it.
I'm just trying to find the concrete link from Fairfield to Nova Scotia at this point in time.

Hopefully someone on this new board may be able to give advice.
Good luck

Or simple google UEL Nova Scotia for more references
Morehouse/Moorehouse will be interchangeable.
