Parents: Edward Henry Prest & Mary Irving Prest.

He married Hilda Mary Stuart Petley, Dec qtr 1913 Bedford.

His parents Edward Henry Prest and Mary Irving Barton had married Jun qtr 1886 Lancaster.
By 1891 they were living in Barnard Castle, Durham, where Edward was a schoolmaster.

Edward Henry Prest died in Barnard Castle on 18 October 1893, according to his Cambridge University alumni details. He had been admitted to Jesus College, Cambridge in 1876 as a scholar, and had distinguished himself as a rower, earning his Blue in 1878, 1879 and 1880. In the latter two years he had served as President of Cambridge University Boat Club.

Edward Henry Prest and Mary Irving Barton married 6th April 1886 at St Margarets, Westminster. His father was Ven. Archdeacon Edward Prest of Durham and her father Edward Barton of Warton Grange.
Edward was an assistant master at Repton School. In 1888 he became headmaster of North East Counties School. He died 0n 17th October 1893 at Barnards Castle aged 37, leaving a widow and one son.
Widow Mary married Commander R J Shee R.N (retired) on 4th April 1914 at Christ Church, Rushbrooke. She died 13th November 1941 in Bedford.
