Title: Reserve battalions - did they move around?
Post by: Old Bristolian on Thursday 17 May 18 17:46 BST (UK)
I am tracking an individual who was in the 13th Batt. Highland Light Infantry in April 1916. I believe this was transferred to the 52nd Training Batt. of 12th Reserve Brigade, based at Leven, Fife in September of that year. Would the battalion have stayed there for the duration of the war or did they move to other areas of Britain at any time?

As a Training Reserve they more than likely stayed put unless there was reason to move such as a larger establishment.

The longlongtrail entry on training reserve battalions has only Leven as the location.

Thank you both for the information. I feared that was the answer
