Title: Who was Jane?

John Armstrong 1811-1873 married Eleanor Armstrong 1818-1893 at Haltwhistle on 16 Aug 1835.
I believe John's parents were John Armstrong and Jane ??? but who was Jane?
Look forward to any further information.

More useful would be John Armstrong's (1811-1873) stated birthplace at 1841-1871 census.
Where he later  is wed in neither here nor there if searching for his antecedents

1851 gives place of birth as Greenhead, Northumberland

Deleted as I am looking at wrong couple who are in Haltwhistle in 1851  :-\

Birth date   14 Jan 1810
Baptism date   06 May 1810
Parents Thomas & Mary
(Mary's father was Luke Wanlass) 

Have you discounted this baptism  :-\

Just for the record, this is a Shute Barrington era baptism, so contains additional information.
Thomas was native of The Horse Close, Township of Featherstone.
Mary's father, Luke Wanlass, was a miner, native of Alston Moor

Baptism in 1806 at Alston for a Mary Armstrong gives parents as John Armstrong & Jane Smith  :-\

John ARMSTRONG & Jane SMITH had a 4th son, James, Chr All Saints Newcastle 14 dec 1800 born Oct 5th 1799 , both parents natives of Allendale NBL, father John a labourer, Jane dau of William SMITH a farmer.
