Hi everyone
I have George Hubbard born Dover 1844, parents John Hubbard and Maria. George can be found on the 1851 census living with his father John and grandfather Stephen. Ref 120/1632/145/27. Maria died in 1846. There are various newspapers reports of John treating Maria badly before her death but nothing about the family afterwards.
I am trying to find George after the 1851 census as I can’t find any trace of him after this date. Any help is greatfully appreciated.

1851 he is born Charlton.
Have you ruled out the George 1871/1881 married to Ellen (Marsh)and later to a Jane.
On Census born c 1842-45 Charlton.

Long shot;
1861 Census, George W Happer   17 (1844) born Charlton

Thanks Trish for your input unfortunately the George married to Ellen Marsh gives his place of birth as Chartham Hatch on then1781 census so it’s not my George. I will keep looking.

Did he go to sea perhaps? There was a George Hubbard lost on the vessel Bee (20167) "supposed lost October 1860" per the Register Of Wages And Effects Of Deceased Seamen. Just a possibility.
