Post by: curtisd on Friday 01 June 18 01:00 BST (UK)
Reposting transcription kindly provided of a school admission certificate on other thread. Looking for certificate or parents of the couple.

I certify that John Marlow of H. M. S.
Spencer, Marine, and Honora Riordan of Cove
in the Union of Clonmell Widow, were Married
in the Parish Church of s(ai)d union by Banns
this 9 day of July 1821 by me
Thomas (?)amstreet
Curate of said Union

Present
Henry (?)
Wm Brown
Cove

rec(eive)d 7 Decr 1833(?)

I think the surname of the 1st witness Henry begins with the same letter as the surname of the curate Thomas. But not sure what it is.

From the school records there is a mention of a brother called Michael Riordan born I believe 1816. I found a baptism which listed:

Michael's parents were married according to the baptism register.

On the  21st day of Jan. 1816 was baptised Michael
son of Cornelius Riordan + Honor (Lyne married)

born 14th day of Jan. 1816

Godparents of Riordan were
Dionysius Lynch + Joan/Jane/Joanna Harrington

The above might help with any search.

A reply on the other thread suggested it may have been the civil parish of Clonmel, Cork. See #reply 23 by Heywood on other thread.

John Marlow is found on census in England as born 1793/1794. Honora is listed as born Cork, Ireland  on census. Born around 1796 according to death certificate. Which is earlier than the other census estimated.

I forgot to compare ages on the certificate. So if the baptism of Michael Riordan is related then I am looking for a Honora Lyon born around 1796 in Cork.
