You haven't said when and where the marriage took place :-\ Is it a church record you have? or civil record?
A son Joseph born 1872 Belfast-

A daughter Sarah Jane born 1866 Dungannon-

Dungannon RC parish, 22 October 1844, the marriage of John Arthurs and Alicia McShane, witnesses Henry O'Neill and Peter Gillespy (right page near bottom):

Thanks, gaffy, no civil record then. Since marriages usually take place in the bride's church and it's possible John was also from the same area then the next step would be to check baptisms-

Thank you Gaffy and Aghadowey, I have a record of the marriage but cannot seem to find a record of birth for John anywhere.
Thank you both once again I appreciate your assistance.

You possibly need to check a wider range for his birth year and adjoining parishes (if their records cover the right period).
