Title: Victoria quoits club
Post by: mulberryhouse40 on Thursday 07 June 18 11:55 BST (UK)
Just wondering if anyone knows anything about Victoria Quoits Club in Bedwellty  circa 1900. In particular Thomas Morgan. Thomas was involved in creating Ebbw Vale as an urban community and was previously a member of the old local board. He was also a member of the Bedwellty Board of guardians.  Any information about Thomas and his work and family would be gratefully received.

Thanks

Gill

Here's a link to a group photo re: the Quoits Club, taken in 1898.

It's difficult to read the names of the people, but I can see that there's a John Morgan on there (but
in Wales, that's pretty inevitable :-)

Here's picture of the Quoits Ground taken in 1950, so much later than your enquiry, but it will give you an idea of what it may have looked like.  Obviously it may not have been in the same place in 1900.

Just found another photo of the Quoits Team in 1912:
