Title: Moot/Moat House, Moreton Corbet
Post by: stesim58 on Saturday 09 June 18 13:59 BST (UK)
Hello--
I see on a census (1901/1911) a birthplace (someone born in 1854) of Moot/Moat House, Moreton Corbet. Does anyone know where this is?? Does it still exist??
Thank you.

Yes it does. It is The Moathouse, right on the edge of the parish near Wem/ Lee Brockhurst. The Moat House is a farm, and there were/ are a couple of cottages there for "ag labs".  I lived in the parish and now live in the next parish, but have never been there and do not even know where the cottages are or if they are still there, as it is accessed from outside the area so to speak.

I  think you are researching Whitneys, Wainwrights???   Sorry I do not really have any more info for you. Will check my notes but I think one house I ascertained they lived in has been demolished and no pictures remain.
