Hi
No I havent i have tried but I find the English system more difficult than the scottish system of finding birth deaths n marriages etc..thought I'd try finding out in other ways.
This couple were killed in a car accident as far as I know and their 6week old baby adopted. I don't know how to search for adoptions never did one before so I thought starting at the crash might help?

I'm sorry to sound so vague i don't have much information to go on
All we have is
The date of adoption:10 November 1952. Billericay juvenile court.
Family no 4231184
Original name of the child Derek Woodward
mother Eileen Woodward
Father Derek Woodward?
Register of births in Braintree number 497 on 3 July 1952.
This child was my friends husband all he ever knew was his parents were killed in a car crash and he was 6weeks old when he got adopted.
I've done a couple of my friends family trees but I've never had an adoption and really don't know where to start...I thought I'd i could Get the accident details etc I could Get further info.....I'd be grateful if anyone can help or point me in the right direction
Many thanks for your time trying to help.

Can you or your friend not order the relevant birth certificate?
As far as I know they do have the adopted birth certificate .
All my searches are for Scots i know how to order anything Scottish but not a clue when it comes to English birth death etc where would I order his original birth certificate before he was adopted? I know that might sound a stupid question but I've never had to Get any certificates from South of the border.
Could you give me a link please?
Thanks
Sofee

Hi
GRO website is here.
https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/menu.asp

You need to register. The certificate would cost £9.25, should you decide to order. Despite the adoption I think they will send it, but if anyone knows otherwise let us know!

Thanks for the link just registered and found the adoption records part it's not as straight forward as just ordering the original birth record seemingly so I've emailed the adoption department and have them the details and asked them how I Get the original birth certificate.....Thanks for the link I really appreciate your help. Fingers crossed i hear something from them soon.
