Title: Help please identifying young Pyle girls with Dad William Redman
Post by: jettejjane on Friday 15 June 18 12:50 BST (UK)
I am in need of a fresh pair of eyes to look at these 2 pictures please.

The first picture is of my dad born 1920  and brother born 1922.  I would say photo is taken around 1926/1927. This pic was not names or dated but looking at others of Dad and brother that were I think date fits.  The lady must be  his Aunt and the girls his 2 older cousins.  So the one looking at him was  born 1914 and the one next to brother born 1915. First question do the girls look the right age?

I have a picture of his older cousin one of 2 sisters,  which has her name on it but not dated and she is older.  My final question do you think she is the girl in the group photo?

If she is it will identify another of my Grandmother's 5 sisters.

I would say both of these were taken around the same time give or take a couple of years..
The young woman looks around 16/18.
In the 1st. the girls look around 12 & 8.
So could the 2nd. be the cousin b. 1914 & the 1st. be cousin born 1915 with the youngest being someone else.

Not an problem. Sent me into panic mode there for a second as I thought I had made a colossal blunder. I would never knowingly remove such an item, if I had I would gladly accept being called out on it and correct the issue.

In the second photo she looks quite self conscious which suggests to me maybe it is a photo of the first time she is wearing “grown up clothes” . When did that tend to happen? Age 16?  I wish she was smiling more as the girl in the group photo has such a good crease in her cheek it would be good to compare.
I think their noses are similar.

I have to say I do think the younger girl looks younger than 11 or 12.  At lease two years younger than the older girl, if not 3

Thanks to you all. I do agree the girls in pic 1 look further apart in years than 1 or 2. But they look like sisters. I have no doubt that the lady is one of Dad's 5 maternal aunts. Of the other 4 sisters none had 2 daughters or children th a fit the timescale. I don't think will ever solve this one.

It is such a shame that only half the pics in Grandmother's Album are named or darted. There are some beautiful pics of the 6 Jupp girls.
