Title: Newfoundland Death Records after 1945
Post by: mgeneas on Saturday 16 June 18 20:56 BST (UK)
Charlotte SCAMMELL was born in Change Islands, Fogo, Newfoundland in 1860.
She married Emmanuel BRINSON in 1881.
She appears in the 1945 census at Victoria Cove, Fogo age 85.

I am trying to locate her death record - any suggestions please?

Can't help with a death record but....

Here is a link to the current telephone directory. You will find at least one name that matches your census with contact info. Put just the last name in the person slot and Victoria Cove NL for the location.

Added: Gander Bay Parish , Victoria Cove at this website may also be able to help. Scroll down until you come to it.

There is a RAOGK volunteer in Newfoundland - might be worth an email to see if they could help

Good Luck

Just a wee bit of information that I happened across.
Charlotte Brinson died 1953 burial at Victoria Cove husband Emmanuel Brinson died 1914 burial at
Change Island. Looks like the were Church of England.

Death records for 1832-present available through Vital Statistics Division
Vital Statistics Department of Government Services and Lands
P.O. Box 8700
St.  John's NL A1B 4J6

The RAGK people might be your best bet. Its a great group of volunteers who give of their time.
I also do volunteer work for RAGK.

Good luck in your search :) :)

Thank you so much Lilybell.

I wonder why I did not find it in the Vital Statistics, obviously not as eagle eyed as you!
