Hi can anyone help with a birth record for Alice Hodson - married George jacklin (of Boston, Lincs) in 1915 (essex). I have her death details, but cannot find BC. 1939 register shows DoB as 15 Sep 1896.

Welcome to Rootschat. I wonder if this is her - dates on the 1939 are often incorrect, but a birth late September would probably have been registered in the December quarter.
Births Dec 1895
Hodson Alice
Gainsbro' 7a 714
Mother's maiden name SPENCER
Who does it give as her father on the marriage certificate?
-
Hi father is stated as George Hodson (deceased) on marriage certificate
-
Does it give an occupation? There is this family in 1891 in North Raucebury, father is a shepherd.

Amended
Possible Baptism gives parents as Emma & William Dixon Hodson - marriage shows her as Emma Clark :-\

Married Dec 8th 1915. Tendring. Essex. St. Nicholas Church. Harwich.
Residence for both - Ingestre Street. Husband rank - Mine Sweeper (I have researched this and he enlisted on a trawler converted to a mine sweeper) Witnesses - Florence & William Pratt
I've researched both sides of 1896 +/- 5 years and although there are many possibles, non for the exact date of 15/9/1896. Which of course may be wrong day and month, but close in year from death certificate.
The only reference I can find for Alice Hodson (with the exact date and with a father named George) is in a Tower Hamlets school in 1904, but no further records.
Appreciate the help

Hi Trish, been away from this for a while. Thanks for the info. I also found this record, but nothing after 1901 in the London area. It coud be that they moved away, but no joy in finding them in 1911 anywhere yet!. There could have been a death or immigration, but also drawn a blank. Alice Hodson is sending me mad!
I also looked at Rosie99’s record and can’t follow that anywhere else.
I’m stymied where next as this is he last key record for the whole family profile. I’m now suspecting that Alice lied about her age and maybe even fathers name
Best Regards
