Perhaps the baptism of the person might help, if it was in a Parish  Church.

I can't see Bunker Hill Cheshire as a place of birth in 1851. Can you give more details?

Hi Stan

I was following a convict who was transported to Tasmania.  On arrival they provided details of their family and place of birth.  This one - Samuel Tymm - said Bunker(s) Hill was his native place. The writing in the registers is often appalling but this one was quite clear so I couldn't understand why it just wasn't popping up.

Thanks to your input and Samuel being so precise, I have traced the family and Samuel's baptism.

Many thanks
