I am struggling to read the place name on this baptism in Tarves in 1794.
"Nov 13th - Alexr Norie in ??? had a son baptized named Charles".
I have looked through the OS maps for Tarves but can't find anything that looks like it fits. Hopefully someone more familiar with the area will recognize the word.
Thanks in advance to anyone that can help!

There's a place called Inchinnan on the list that can be found via the link below:

Skoosh.
It doesn't start with an A - see the A in Alex. It's most like the J but capital Is are also written like that.
Not found it on maps so far.
Added - could well be a scrawled Inchinnan, Winlass - but that's in Renfrew :-\

See the state of the A after in, then a feint bit!
Skoosh.

Much clearer in the 1792 baptism, Skoosh - you're correct. it is Auch....
-
Just found it on SP - is it Auchincruide or some such?

Thanks, everyone! This is amazing!
I had to be away from the computer for a few hours, and the problem was taken care of for me :)
