Title: Newcastle under Lyme St George's/St Paul's Church 1892 baptism query

Sorry if this is obvious, not familiar with the area and I'm completely stumped.

I have a baptism at Newcastle under Lyme in 1892 and the register image on Find My Past says it's St George's Church, but in the margin is written "St Paul's M.C."

I'm assuming this means that the baptism actually took place at St Paul's Church, which I understand at the time was a 'tin tabernacle' type of building, replaced by the present church in 1905 or thereabouts. I'm also guessing that St Paul's was perhaps a daughter church to St George's, which is why it says St George's at the top of the page and St Paul's in the margin.

My question is - what does the M.C. actually stand for?

I would hazzard a guess at Methodist Chapel
