Will ask moderator to move post to Shropshire board

Are you trying to go forwards or backwards?
Added:
Free search of 1939, using the date of birth and Edward L Jones, shows him with a Phyllis living in Romsey.
-
There is a gloriously mixed up family tree on Ancestry, with full certificates etc showing births/marriages in England. then claiming living in e.g. Dorrington, California or Hants (Hampshire) Nova Scotia. But, naturally, not found in 1911.
Added: If it is your tree, you should alter those incorrect countries.
-
trying to find them they were in Dorrington between 1909 and 1911 Births of children, then should be able to go further back
-
Who were the witnesses to the marriage.
-
Earlier post also requesting info from 1911 backwards
topics merged
-
Rootschat does not allow requests for 1911 lookups
-
witnesses were Harry DAVIES and Maggie WILLIAMS
-
sorry new to this didn't realize I had asked for a 1911 census look up ,just any help about finding the where abouts of Frank and Hannah JONES
-
In the tree on Ancestry you have Frank born 1887 at Forton.
Could this have been Yorton?
Added,
No, he was living at Forton, Longparish, Hampshire on army record, so do you know where he was born?
That army record also has him as 31 years and 15 days old on 10th December, 1915. So possibly born 25th November 1884. Also looks like born at Yorton.
-
How old was Frank on the marriage cert and what was his occupation
What was his fathers name and occupation
Who were the witnesses
-
Whilst looking for possible families, came across this, might be totally unrelated as Jones is a very common surname, but putting here for consideration, living at Duck Hall (also other residences there)
1881 census:
Living in Condover Shropshire
William Jones 56 Stapleton, Shropshire, England ag lab married
William Jones 14 son Pitchford, Shropshire
Edward Jones 11 son Berrington, Shropshire
Thomas Jones 8 son Berrington, Shropshire
-
Living at Broughton lane, bank, Shropshire, in 1891
Sarah Jones 56 washerwoman, widow, from Weston
Frank Jones 4 grandson from Yorton
If Frank was born in November 1887 he would only be 3 in 1891 census, but put here just in case age wrong.
-
The army records claim Frank born 25th November 1884.
Free search of 1939 register gives 25th November 1887.
Yorton is near Clive, so comes under Wem registration district.
There is a Frank Jones born in Wem in December quarter 1886, GRO shows that birth with no mmn. Birth in November 1886 would fit with that census of a Frank Jones living with his grandmother in 1891 age 4.
Invented father for marriage certificate?
-
Living in Broughton Shropshire in 1881, this might be Sarah
Wm. Jones 56 Allbrighton Shropshire farm labourer
Sarah Jones 46 Preston, Shropshire
Charls Jones 9 Grinshill, Shropshire, son
Susannah Jones 3 Yorton Shropshire dau
(which would mean the census post for Duck Hall in 1881 is irrelevant)
Charles and Susanna might have mmn Clay.
-
This might be William and Sarah in 1861, living in Booley, Shropshire
William Jones 37 Albrighton ag lab
Sarah Jones 27 Weston Hodnet
Ann Jones 2 Stanton
and there is a Jones/Clay birth for an Ann in 1859 in Wem.
-
There is a birth for a Miriam Jones/Clay in 1868, so this family in 1871, living in Grinshill
William Jones 47 Preston Gurbals
Sarah Jones 37 Weston
Ann Jones 12 Stanton
Minna Jones 3 Grinshill
-
Frank Jones baptised 19/12/1886 Broughton, Shropshire, son of Minnie Jones, abode Yorton. This fits with the birth regd Dec.qtr.1886 Wem - to be sure you need the birth certificate to confirm birth date is 25th November which I strongly suspect it is meaning he was actually born in 1886 not 1887 and was illegitimate son of Minnie Jones, presumably the 'Minna' aged 3 on 1871 census with William and Sarah.

In 1881 Miriam Jones is a servant with the Roberts family in White Horse Cottages, Middle , Shropshire. born Grinshill. (William Roberts is a Police Officer).
There is a possible asylum entry in 1884, and discharge in same year, I think.
Cannot see Miriam in 1891, nor definite marriage or death, as yet.
Added:
Ancestry has her as Meriam in 1891, living as a relative in West Battersea?
