Hello,
An Ancestry tree says that John Underwood died in Rothley in 1847. Like most Rootschatters, I am skeptical of any information on Ancestry. Can anyone find a burial for John in Rothley? He married Jane Waldrom in Rothley in 1797.
I'd appreciate any help!

I assume you have checked there is a death with an age that would match on the GRO index for that year

There are two in that district: one aged 75 and one aged 25. Presumably John is the 75 year-old if it is him.

You need to check the parish records of St. Mary and St. John, Rothley, Church of England as that is the only place in Rothley that he could be buried, as the municipal cemetery wasn't opened until 1904
